Apprenticeships
Registered Apprenticeship is a formal system of employee training that combines on-the-job training with related technical instruction. It is designed to produce craft-workers that are fully competent in all aspects of an occupation, including: knowledge, skill and proficiency on the job.
An apprentice could be someone with a disability who needs specialized training to succeed in the workforce.

Assistive Device Demonstration and Lending
Assistive Technology Demonstration and Lending Centers are located across the state of Idaho. Each center has computer access demonstration stations for children and adults, as well as equipment for persons with sensory impairments, cognitive impairments, and physical disabilities. The centers’ devices include aids for recreational activities, daily living, educational, vocational and personal care. Each Resource Center is prepared to take questions about assistive technology needs and will send out information or connect a consumer with the appropriate Assistive Technology specialist for assistance.
Assistive Technology Finance Program
The Idaho Assistive Technology Financing Program is a consumer-directed program funded by both private and public money that is designed to help Idahoans obtain and use the assistive technology they need to be successful in employment, education, recreation and in the community. The Program has been in existence since 1994, thanks to the collaboration between the Idaho Assistive Technology Financing Program, Idaho banks, and the Idaho Community Foundation. They have come together to provide low-interest loans to Idaho citizens with disabilities to purchase assistive technology.

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project is a federally funded program administered by the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho. Its goal is to increase the availability of assistive technology devices and services for older persons and Idahoans with disabilities.

Idaho AT4All Equipment Exchange Program
The Idaho Assistive Technology Project has partnered with Living Independence Network Corporation to establish a system in Idaho for receiving, repairing, and distributing quality used equipment to older persons and Idahoans with disabilities of all ages. This collaboration is known as the Idaho Assistive Technology Reutilization Project.

On-the-Job Training
Qualifying businesses can receive a reimbursement for partial training costs when they agree to hire and train an eligible worker.
The worker who is hired and benefits from on-the-job training could be a person with a disability.
Tax Reimbursement Incentive
The Tax Reimbursement Incentive can make a business’ move to Idaho one of the best things to ever happen to its bottom line. The business can receive a tax credit of up to 30% on income, payroll, and sales taxes for up to 15 years. The incentive is available for a broad range of industries, including aerospace, agriculture, food processing, and high-tech. It’s available to existing Idaho businesses looking to expand as well as ones that are new to the state.
Some of the jobs a business creates to be eligible for this incentive can be occupied by employees with disabilities.

Workforce Development Training Fund
The Workforce Development Training Fund can reimburse employee training costs to eligible companies that are bringing jobs to Idaho, adding jobs through expansion or upgrading skills of current workers who are at risk of being permanently laid off.
A worker who receives training through this fund can be someone with a disability who needs vocational instruction to secure or retain employment.
